Anya Lotay

Neuro Physiotherapist

Anya has been a Physiotherapist since qualifying in 2017 from the University of Nottingham. She worked in multiple areas of Physiotherapy in the NHS prior to specialising in Neuro-rehab. Since choosing Neuro as the place for her, Anya has worked in Stroke, Neuro-outpatients, ICU, Neurosurgery, Neuro-rehabilitation units and in people’s own homes. Anya has worked in various neurological specialties within the NHS for four and a half years settling on Neuro-rehabilitation as the place for her.

Anya has experience working with people who have a wide range of neurological conditions including:
• Brain injuries (Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Hypoxic Brain Injury and Neuro-oncology)
• Spinal Cord Injuries and Pathologies (traumatic injuries, degenerative and inflammatory conditions)
• Parkinson’s Disease
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Encephalopathies
• Guillain-Barré syndrome
• Functional Neurological Disorder

Anya has completed a number of courses to further develop her skills in thorough and person-centered assessments, coming up with collaborative treatment plans and helping people achieve their goals. She has completed training in Bobath analysis of movement and handling techniques, Neuro-Fit principles for Therapists, Motivational Interviewing, Seating and Postural Assessment and more.

Having fun and enjoying your sessions is also important to Anya – be that with her bubbly personality or in your treatment itself. You can expect your assessment to include discussing your condition history, current main concerns and goals of treatment. Treatment sessions could be anything from therapeutic handling techniques, exercise therapy, advice or education. Anya is also able to utilise Neuro-physiotherapy adjuncts such as electrical stimulation, taping and splinting should this be something you’re interested in.

When not at Fix – you will probably find Anya in the kitchen or at a restaurant as a massive foodie she’s always got a plan or recommendations for the next meal!
