Eleah Waters
Clinical Reformer & Mat Pilates
Eleah originally trained as a dancer and completed her Bachelor of Dance (Honours) with Distinction. Unfortunately despite her success at university she wasn’t with out her fair share of injuries. Here at university, Pilates became an invaluable tool to rehabilitate these injuries helping to create better balance, posture, efficient bio-mechanics, and strength in the whole body. The awareness that beautiful movement wasn’t enough to avoid injury sparked an ongoing passion to teach functional, safe movement.
Eleah trained with STOTT Pilates who are at the forefront of sport science using modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions. She then went on to train with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) which looks at Pilates repertoire with direct application to a clinic setting and rehabilitating injuries. She also trained in pre/post natal Pilates.
Eleah’s 1-on-1 bespoke Pilates sessions reflect a fluid and dynamic practice. This practice concentrates on alignment and stabilisation with a more contemporary approach to the exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Clients say they feel strong from top to toe, more aware of their physicality and super relaxed after her sessions.
In her down time Eleah likes to run around Victoria Park, go to yoga classes and drink epic amounts of tea. Being a complete anatomy geek she also spends her time booking movement courses or listening to podcasts on myofascial trigger points.
