Amy Moffat

Massage Therapist: Deep Tissue and Tension Release, Pilates: Reformer & Mat

Amy’s bodywork journey started out in 2012 when she graduated from Bodyology School of Massage with a qualification in Holistic Massage, Anatomy, Pathology and Physiology; accredited by the Massage Training Institute (MTI). Amy continued to develop her practice with Advanced Myofascial Release with the Jing Advanced Massage and Training Institute, in 2019, and further CPDs in TMJ dysfunction and lower back and hip pain.

Amy has a particular interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of TMJ disorders, along with the commonly associated symptoms of headaches and migraines, mouth breathing, neck and shoulder tension, pain or difficulty chewing, bruxism and facial pain.

Amy is also a qualified Polestar Pilates Instructor, the most comprehensive Pilates rehabilitation and fitness certification in the world today. Pilates offers a great framework in which to understand the body in movement while developing strength and conditioning on the equipment and mat. With Pilates we can achieve a multitude of goals, from recovering fitness after a time-out, managing ongoing pathologies and conditions, or building strength and endurance for competing in sports events.

As well as working remedially she is a firm believer in the power of relaxation, which involves creating a welcoming and compassionate environment. As a result, Amy’s treatments and classes aim for a balance between remedial and relaxation work; calming the nervous system has a positive effect on muscle and fascial tissue; her goal is to incorporate these two elements in every treatment.
